Thanks to the workers on site we have raised £270 for The Derbyshire Blood Bikes Charity with a pre Christmas raffle.
Derbyshire Blood Bikes is a local registered charity supported by volunteers who give of their time to transport blood and related products between hospitals and blood banks for the NHS. The service is totally supported by donations and saves the NHS thousands of pounds each year.
Thanks to all the workers and contractors who supported this worthy cause.
Our thanks to Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Services and in particular the guys that came from their various stations around the area to practice the rescue of a crane operator from our on site crane.
This was a planned exercise through our liaison with the service and it proved to be very worthwhile for both the site team and the rescue services.
Stuart ( Project Director) said; “It was a really useful exercise which showed that by working in partnership with the emergency services, problems such as a crane operator falling ill whilst working, can be dealt with efficiently and professionally. I was really impressed with the fire service guys and the way they dealt with the rescue.”
Local residents were also able to watch the exercise and a little girl was treated to a sit in the fire engine which really made her day.
We continue with the steel structure for the building and now are near completion of this phase. Scaffolding work is being continued and now sees the side elevation and part of the front elevation completed.
Today has seen the start of the stud decks being installed. These are the flooring sheets upon which the concrete floors will be poured.
The building is now taking shape very nicely and the programme of works is looking good and on time, indeed for some parts of the work, we are ahead of the programme.
Well you can see from this video that June has been a busy month here at Kings Crescent. From excavating the car park area to now erecting the steel structure we can now see the progress being made on the development. Enjoy!
Its been a long twelve months working on the foundations of Kings Crescent but we can now proudly say that we are building upwards. Today the first parts of the steel structure have been erected and we are now on the way to having a tall structure to show off.
Over the coming weeks you will see the progress as we continue to erect more of the steel framework to the building. Watch this space!!
